28.04.2016 – Boll Automation offered exciting presentations and a variety of live demonstrations on the topic of ergonomics to the participants of the “Ergonomics Day – The Robot as a Friend of Man” on April 28, 2016 in Kleinwallstadt. The event was divided into two parts: The morning was filled with lectures, while our practical workshop took place in the afternoon.
In our lecture program, we looked at the topics of ergonomics and automation together with proven experts. The lectures focused on the question “How will we work and produce tomorrow?”. Wolfgang Schneider, Managing Director of VITA and spokesman for “die ergonomie experten” shed light on the changing requirements in plant engineering from the point of view of ergonomic workplace design. Ralf Kamphus, Head of Production at BPW Bergische Achsen AG, reported on how Boll Automation was able to provide them with more ergonomics through intelligent automation. André Peters, Managing Director of Boll Automation, explained the benefits of robot automation for your employees. Solutions ranging from classic to collaborative robotics were presented.
The practical workshop
After application-oriented presentations, the highlight of the event, the practical workshop, followed after a short break. The practical workshop consisted of seven live demonstrations on the topic of ergonomic workplace design, occupational safety and innovation:
- Heavy components easily removed: Relieving employees from heavy lifting with Binspect®
- Human-Robot Collaboration: Flexible, Automated Weld Inspection
- Ergonomic workplace design through automation of physically heavy and hazardous work
- Roboscanner: lightweight robot optimizes and simplifies quality assurance
- Humanized working conditions during crack inspection with Autoflux® cracklight
- Continuous development of new innovations through numerous research projects, including in the field of medical technology
- Ergonomics and time savings in plant design as well as fast adaptation to changing conditions thanks to intelligent simulation software
The participants were divided into several groups. The various groups were each guided to the different applications by an expert.
The event ended with a barbecue in a cozy atmosphere, with the opportunity for individual technical discussions. Overall, the feedback from customers on the “Ergonomics Day” was very positive, which we were particularly pleased about. All participants stated that they would attend such an event again.
