21.-24. Juni: AUTOMATICA 2016 in München

24.06.2016 – Together with our sister companies Automation W+R GmbH and Descam 3D Technologies GmbH, we are exhibiting our combined solutions in quality assurance, metrology and robot-based handling at AUTOMATICA 2016 in Munich. At our booth 301 in hall B5 you can expect practical applications, but also a lot of entertainment: Because for you we want to make the collaborative lightweight robot KUKA LBR iiwa a playmate with a special application: Guide a ring on the arm of the iiwa over a “hot wire”. If you close a low-voltage circuit in the process, the iiwa breaks off the game and returns the ring to a safe position. The path that you have learned collaboratively can, of course, be repeated by the robot on its own afterwards. It reacts to any changes and obstacles thanks to its special safety concept.
The exhibit of our Munich-based sister company Descam 3D Technologies GmbH is more practice-oriented, but no less entertaining: The robot scanner, which is also collaboratively automated, scans objects using Structured Light Scan (SLS) and takes care of the path planning itself. At the booth, you can experience the robotic scanner in action and see for yourself the benefits that flexible, yet reliably repeatable 3D shape capture can hold for your production.
The contribution of Automation W+R GmbH to the booth exhibits addresses the trend towards lightweight construction as well as the keyword of Industry 4.0: Because bonNDTinspect automatically and reliably checks the full-surface adhesive readiness of surfaces. The durability of bonded joints, which can otherwise only be randomly tested using destructive testing methods, can thus be verified in the process. This is a challenge that is particularly relevant for safety-critical applications of CFRP in automotive engineering, but also in aerospace.
