RIXEN led into a secure future

10.10.2018 – With the sale of RIXEN to Dr. Richard Söhnchen, a visionary and technician has been found who will lead the company into a secure future.

In the future, the world market leader for full size cables will raise the technical and qualitative top position to a new level. In 57 years, more than 300 Rixen Full Size water ski cables have been built. Many millions of water skiers have found a new sport through the cableways made by Rixen. Wakeboarding and water skiing without a boat only became possible through the inventions of Bruno Rixen. He created this sport and we thank him for it. Bruno Rixen received the Federal Cross of Merit for his life’s work.

Dr. Söhnchen, himself an enthusiastic wakeboarder, kiteboarder and qualified water ski instructor, will not only continue to build reliable systems with the familiar team, but will also bring added value to the customers in the daily operation of the system with new tools.

Richard Söhnchen is the managing sole shareholder of the Autision Group in Munich. The group consists of independent companies with more than 120 employees in special machine construction for robotics and measurement technology. In the last 5 years the group has been awarded 10 innovation prizes. Important competences in control technology and rope testing have been bundled in Winspect GmbH. This division brings many years of technology expertise to ropeways.

Bruno Rixen (87), the inventor of the water ski cableway, is happy that after an intensive search he has now found the ideal successor who shares his vision of making water skiing and wakeboarding accessible to all and who will lead his life’s work into a secure future.
